Shreveport, Louisiana–April 19, 2024–Blanchard Walker’s shareholders and directors re-elected Melissa Flores as the President of the firm. Flores has held this esteemed position since 2023.

President Melissa Flores noted, “I am really proud that Blanchard Walker has been around since 1917 and it is my honor and privilege to lead us as we continue our commitment to providing excellent legal services and to improving our community.”

In addition to re-electing a President, the firm also re-elected Scott Wolf and Daniel Baker to the firm’s Executive Committee.

Flores’ practice at Blanchard Walker includes commercial and residential real estate, title examination and title insurance, and other general corporate matters. She was admitted to practice law in Louisiana and joined the firm in 2005. She earned her undergraduate degree in elementary education from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and her law degree (magna cum laude) from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law, where she was a William S. Crowe Scholar and a member of the Loyola Law Review. Ms. Flores is a past President and sustaining member of the Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier, Inc., a past board member and volunteer for the Volunteers of America of North Louisiana, and a Sunday school teacher and past member of the Vestry of St. Mark’s Cathedral.

Wolf is a member of the Louisiana, Texas, Nevada, Arizona, American and Shreveport Bar Associations. Mr. Wolf was appointed and served on the American Bar Association Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section’s Governing Council as the Law Student Division Liaison his final year of law school. He remains involved in the Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section, currently serving on the Editorial Boards of The Brief and Tort Source and as a Vice Chair of the Products Liability, Business Litigation and Medicine and Law Committees. Additionally, he has served as a Past President of the Red River Rebel, Louisiana State University in Shreveport’s Alumni Association Board of Directors, a member of the Theatre of Performing Arts Board of Directors, a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association’s House of Delegates, and a Barrister in the Harry V. Booth and Henry A. Politz American Inn of Court He is a member of the Louisiana Bankers Association, the National Retail & Restaurant Defense Association.

Bakers’ practice involves a wide range of civil and commercial litigation, insurance, construction, personal injury, mental health, products liability, premise liability and workers’ compensation law. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Baker served as a law clerk in the 26th Judicial District Court for Bossier and Webster Parishes. In 2009 he entered private practice and has maintained a civil litigation practice since that time. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Louisiana State University in 2003 and his law degree from Louisiana State University in 2008. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Baker worked as an engineer focusing on commercial and residential land development. Mr. Baker is a member of the American Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association, Shreveport Bar Association, Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel and serves on the Louisiana State Bar Association Insurance Committee.
