Shreveport, Louisiana–November 16, 2017-Attorney Melissa Flores was recently named an Athena Award Honoree by the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce Business Development Connection.

Each year, the award is presented to individuals who have attained and personify the highest level of excellence and creativity in their business or profession, while continuing to devote time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community, and have actively assisted women in achieving their full leadership potential through service and mentorship.

Ms. Flores’ practice at Blanchard Walker includes commercial and residential real estate, title examination and title insurance, and other general corporate matters. Ms. Flores is also a licensed title insurance producer and is an agent for First American Title Insurance Company of Louisiana.

She is a member of the American, Louisiana State and Shreveport Bar Associations, the Ark-La-Tex Association of Professional Landmen, Louisiana Land Title Association, the Louisiana Association of Independent Land Title Agents, Northwest Louisiana Association of Realtors-Commercial Investment Division, member of the Vestry of St. Mark’s Cathedral, was an honoree for the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce 40 under 40 in 2014, and received the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Citizen Lawyer Award in 2015.

Ms. Flores currently serves as President of the Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier, Inc. and is a board member of the Caddo Parish Children and Youth Planning Board.
